Delivering Relaxation : 14 Hours, 4 Softubs, 1 Mission

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: it’s early spring in Northern Ontario, you’ve got a truck and trailer loaded with four Softubs, a map full of drop-off points in places you’ve never been, and your only lifeline is Tim Hortons and a good playlist.

Early May 2025, Chris and I were on a 14-hour-long-haul delivery trip through 400 miles of highway. We were tired, a little overwhelmed, but excited. This wasn’t just about logistics; it was about bringing comfort and relaxation to people at their cottages, where life slows down and the good stuff happens.

Brothers on the Road

We had everything prepped the night before. Chris handled the products and set-ups like a pro, and I documented our trip and pitched in whenever Chris needed a hand. Honestly, it felt less like work and more like a road trip with a mission. We’re like brothers in arms—just two guys delivering tubs and good vibes.

Our first stop was MacTier, about two and a half hours from Sudbury. We grabbed our usual Tim Hortons fuel, filled up the tank, tracked our locations, and hit the road. The first drop-off was at a marina—no customer in sight, just the lake and a note that they’d pick up the Softub later that evening. Easy start.

Stop two was still in MacTier, about 30 minutes from the first. This time, we met the customer. They wanted their Softub on the deck of their cottage, overlooking the lake. We got it set up in about an hour, and honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better view to relax in a hot tub.

Nature, Network and New Discoveries

Our third drop was more of an adventure. We met a customer at a random junction to drop off a refurbished Pak and pick up their old Hydromate. But the network was spotty, and we had to wait a while to get in touch. While we waited, we soaked in the surroundings—flora, fauna, and all. I learned that Chris is actually into plants and herbs. He’s a full-on nature guy. You think you know someone, and then boom—they're a walking encyclopedia on native Ontario greenery.

Eventually, someone arrived to receive the delivery, and we were back on the road to Port Severn. This drop-off was at a private landing, and the customer arrived on time. There was a funny coincidence - we were dropping off the Berwick Tweed Softub Spa at Berwick Rd.

We helped load the Softub onto their boat—yes, their boat—and off it went to their cottage across the water. While there, we spotted fish, a few butterflies, and even a snake. Nature shows off this time of year.

Hungry and Almost Home

At this point, we were starving. We had one more delivery left, but lunch was a must. After a short drop-off at Honey Harbour—where we picked up an old Softub for repair—we stopped for food. Chris went classic with fish and chips, and I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was simple, satisfying, and just what we needed to refuel.

Then came our final destination: Orillia. The customer was an elderly couple with a cottage surrounded by bush. And if you know Orillia in spring, you know—mosquitoes and blackflies galore. But they were lovely people with lovely space, so grateful, and we got their Softub all set up in about an hour.

Wrapping Up with Rock & Roll

We finally hit the road back to Sudbury, and all four deliveries were done. We had another three hours to go, so we made one last Tim Hortons stop for a tall coffee, muffins, and a chocolate chip cookie, put on some soft rock and roll, and let the sunset lead us home. The golden light, warmth, and music perfectly ended a long but full day.

More Than Just a Job

We’ve been delivering Softubs since 1990, and every trip like this reminds us why we do it. Yes, it’s hard work. Yes, it’s long hours. But we’re not just delivering hot tubs—we’re providing a chance to unwind, slow down, and take care of yourself.Because relaxation isn’t a luxury, it’s a need.

If you’ve been putting off self-care, let this be your reminder. You deserve comfort. You deserve rest. And we’re here to deliver it—literally.
